Data sheets

SEMICOSIL® 960 RED is a conformal coating that forms a
tough, rubbery film designed to protect electronic
circuits from environmental influences.

The surface to be coated should be clean and free of dirt and other contaminants. SEMICOSIL® 960 RED is not recommended for use with acrylic or polycarbonate substrates.

SEMICOSIL® 960 RED can be applied by brushing, dipping or spraying. For spray applications SEMICOSIL® 960 RED may be thinned with dry naptha or mineral spirits. Application equipment may be cleaned using organic solvents such as mineral spirits. All traces of solvent should be removed from application equipment before using SEMICOSIL® 960 RED.

Because SEMICOSIL® 960 RED begins to cure on contact with atmospheric moisture, all containers should be tightly closed when not in use. Dip tanks should be no more than half full and blanketed with a dry, inert gas such as nitrogen. If a skin should form over the surface it may be removed by careful skimming. Spray equipment and brushes should be washed and wiped clean with organic solvents such as naphtha or mineral spirits after use.

Storage

SEMICOSIL® 960 REDhas a shelf life of at least 12 months when stored  between 10°C and 25°C in the tightly closed original container.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
