ELASTOSIL® RT 724
ELASTOSIL® RT 724 is a pasty, thixotropic, addition-curing, 2-part silicone rubber that cures to a soft silicone rubber either by UV-light exposure or heat exposure when mixed with the platinum catalyst part ELASTOSIL® CAT UV or ELASTOSIL® CAT PT.

ELASTOSIL® RT 724 is fully compatible with platinum curing WACKER SilGel® and can be even cured wet-in-wet.
All surfaces must be clean and free of contaminants that will inhibit the cure ELASTOSIL® RT 724.
Examples of inhibiting contaminants are sulfur contain-ing materials, plasticizers, urethanes, amine containing materials and organometallic compounds – especially organotin compounds.
ELASTOSIL® RT 742 contains the crosslinker, ELASTOSIL® CAT PT, PT-F or CAT UV contains the catalyst.
Even traces of catalyst may cause gelling of the component containing the crosslinker. Therefore tools (spatula, stirrers, etc.) used for handling the catalyst-containing component or the catalyzed compound must not come into contact with this component.
The two components should be thoroughly mixed at a 10 : 1 ratio by weight or volume.
To eliminate any air introduced during dispensing or trapped under components or devices a vacuum encapsulation is recommended.
For curing an oven at elevated temperatures can be used.
Lagerung
ELASTOSIL® RT 724 should be stored dry and cool in the tightly closed original container.
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch appears on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
