SILRES® BS 1306 US
SILRES® BS 1306 US is a solventless, water-thinnable emulsion of a polysiloxane modified with functional silicone resin.
SILRES® BS 1306 US is typically used as an additive used in the manufacture of aqueous products to enhance water repellency, water resistance, and water vapor permeability. It also improves the processability and antiblock characteristics of the aqueous coatings.
Suitable for:
- silicone resin emulsion paints / plasters
- highly filled emulsion coatings
- whitewash emulsions
- interior / exteriour paints
- aqueous facade primers
- insulating materials
Properties
SILRES® BS 1306 US incorporates easily into water-based formulations to provide improved water and scuff resistance properties.
Data sheets
SILRES® BS 1306 US may be added undiluted to aqueous masonry coatings and primers either during after manufacture. We recommend adding 1 wt% to masonry coatings and 5 wt% to primers.
SILRES® BS 1306 US can also serve as a water repellent primer, in which case it should be diluted 1:9 parts by weight with water. When such primers are required to strengthen the substrate, we recommend adding a polymer dispersion in hydrosol form.
For the impregnation of insulating materials, we
recommend diluting SILRES® BS 1306 US with water in the ratio 1:100 to 1:200 parts by weight.
Storage
The "Best use before end" date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
