WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E is a nonionic macro emulsion of a reactive, aminofunctional silicone fluid.

Properties

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E is particularly suitable as softener for the impregnation of fibers and textiles.

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E imparts a very soft, drapable and elastic touch to woven and knitted fabrics.

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E is considered to be one of the best softening agents for PES/cotton fabrics.
WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E improves the wash-and-wear properties and the crease recovery angle, sewability and tear strength and reduces abrasion loss. The effects are fast to washing and dry cleaning.

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E has very little effect on the degree of whiteness under usual application conditions. Generally, no adverse effect on the shade or color fastness properties of coloured goods is observed.

As part of formulations used as fill fiber finish WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E imparts excellent slickness and resilience to the fiber.

Specific features of WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E

  • Emulsions

Processing:

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E provides permanent effects even without the addition of a catalyst. No specific curing conditions are required if no resins are used.

WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E can be applied by padding method, but the finishing liquors should not be exposed to high shear forces as this might cause instability.

5-30 g/l WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E are recommended for padding application.
WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E can be applied either alone or together with resins and other finishing agents.
Higher crease recovery angles and lower abrasion values can be obtained in resin finishes by using WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E. A wide range of fabric touches can be obtained by combining WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E with conventional softening agents and other additives such as fillers based on polyacrylate.

Typical recipe for woven and knitted materials from synthetic fibres:

0.5 ml/l acetic acid 60 %
10-30 g/l WACKER® FINISH CT 45 E
pad, liquor pick-up about 50 %, dry at about 130 °C

Packaging

  • 0.5 kg bottle
  • 50 kg drum
  • 200 kg drum
  • 950 kg IBC

Storage

The "Best use before end" date of each batch is shown on the product label.

Emulsions showing signs of creaming should be agitated before use to assure uniform consistency.

Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
