WACKER® C 800
WACKER® C 800 is a concentrated, nonionic micro emulsion of a non reactive polydimethylsiloxane. WACKER® C 800 is frost resistant and stable under storage conditions.
Properties
WACKER® C 800 is particularly suitable to produce ready-to-use silicone emulsions on dilution with water by means of a simple stirring apparatus. WACKER® C 800 is applied alone, in aqueous dilution or combined with organic softeners for the treatment of fibres and textiles. Before mixing with organic softeners a test is recommended to ensure sufficient compatibility.
WACKER® C 800 is used as sewing thread lubricant for polyester yarns used on high-speed sewing machines in order to reduce the friction of fibers.
WACKER® C 800 imparts a pleasant, dry, non-sticky touch to pigment prints especially on fabrics having a flat structure. WACKER® C 800 improves rubbing fastness of pigment prints.
A Ready-to-use silicone emulsion is prepared by diluting 1 part of WACKER® C 800 with 1.5 parts of water. In order to obtain a stable emulsion WACKER® C 800 is placed in a stirrer and water is added with slow agitation. Thus a milky emulsion is obtained that remains stable without loss of quality when stored under appropriate conditions.
Rubbing fastness of pigment prints is improved by adding WACKER® C 800 at a ratio of 3-6 g/kg to the printing paste. Flow properties and stability of the printpaste are usually unaffected by addition of WACKER® C 800. Overdosage has to be avoided.

WACKER® C 800 is available in 200 kg drums with screw cap.
Storage
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
