ELASTOSIL RT 6820 A/B
ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 A/B is a two-component, solventless liquid silicone rubber system that cures rapidly upon heating to a tough silicone rubber. It has been formulated primarily as a low viscosity with good strength for fabric coating.

Application details
ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 A/B is processed by thorough mixing of component A and B in a ratio of 10:1. Pot life at 23°C is around 3 days. The product can be fully cured in about 3 minutes at 150°C, shorter cure time is possible at higher temperature. Adhesion of ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 A/B depends on the substrate and can be improved with additives such as adhesion promoter or primer. Curing may be retarded and prevented by nitrogen compounds such as amines and amides, sulfur compounds, anti-aging additives and other additives in rubbers and plastics. Therefore, material compatibility test is always recommended to determine the optimum curing conditions.

ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 A is packaged in 180 Kg drums and ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 B is packaged in 18 Kg pails.
Storage
ELASTOSIL® RT 6820 A/B should be stored between 5 and 30 °C in the tightly closed original container.
The product has shelf life of 18 months when stored in proper conditions. Storage beyond the initial expiration date does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance.
