BELSIL<sup>®</sup> DM 5
BELSIL® DM 5 is a linear, non-reactive, unmodified polydimethylsiloxane. BELSIL® DM 5 is characterized by low surface tension and a high spreading coefficient. Due to their flexible polymer backbone, dimethicones have high permeability to gases (e.g. water vapor, oxygen), which allows respiration of the skin.

BELSIL® DM 5 is widely used in a highly varied range of personal-care formulations. Formulations with BELSIL® DM 5 have better spreading properties and can be easily distributed on the skin. In these formulations, it imparts a hydrophobic, protective but breathable barrier to the skin, simultaneously minimizing stickiness. It reduces whitening and imparts a soft emolliency to the skin.

 

Storage

Maximum temperature allowed during storage and transportation: 50 °C

A temporary increase in temperature during transport does not impair quality. Actively cooled transport guide can be dispensed with.

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
