New APEO-Free VINNAPAS® Binder for Architectural Paint
Consumers are driving the paint and coating market into investigating new raw materials that move away from those traditionally used within the formulation. WACKER´s VINNAPAS® VAE binders provide the next generation in APEO-free technology. Introducing VINNAPAS® EF 8120 - this new binder allows a formulator to rethink how they apporach their raw materials in interior and exterior architectural applications.
Learn MoreSILRES® IC 900 – Unique Binder with Double the Benefits
Our new methyl-phenyl resin for high temperature resistance is unique in the application of high dry film thickness (DFT) coatings (>100µm). The resin allows application flexibility for the coatings, making the right film thickness not as critical due to its potential to be applied at a higher film thickness. The resin also provides better corrosion protection. In addition, the product is also suitable for the formulation of more sustainable coatings, as it is a low viscosity, solvent-free, and non-waterborne resin.
Learn MoreFrom Water-Based to Fire-Retardant with SILRES® M 51 E
SILRES® M 51E is a new methyl resin binder for waterborne, high-temperature resistant coatings, supporting the trend towards more environmentally-friendly coatings. The resin has fast dry-to-touch time at room temperature, low smoke generation, and excellent chemical and scratch resistance.
Learn MoreNew VINNOL® Resin To Increase Resistance and Durability of Industrial Coatings
It pays to incorporate VINNOL® into your industrial coatings application - it improves chemical stability, flexibility and impact resistance. VINNOL® provides protective properties, chemical and water resistance, and can even promote adhesion. Our new product to the VINNOL® family, VINNOL® L-6868 is the next generation of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers. The unique resin is engineered to deliver excellent solubility in an extensive range of solvents. Additionally, VINNOL® L-6868 provides compatibility with a wide range of UV monomers and reactive diluents.
Learn MoreNEXIVA® Dispersible Polymer Powders
Looking beyond traditional architectural paint, WACKER strives to pioneer the next generation in architectural paint technology. Consumer products, such as detergents and cleaning supplies, are moving away from shipping water. WACKER asks - why can´t paint do the same? NEXIVA® brings the potential to manufacture architectural wall paint in either liquid or powder form. These dispersible polymer powders allow the formulation of paints without the addition of biocides and offer key advantages when it comes to storing and transporting paint.
Learn MoreSILRES® BS Additives Boost Silicate-Based Coatings
Silicate-based paints and plasters are setting market trends: they fulfill the current demand for water-borne systems that have very low VOC emissions, are odorless, biocide-free, and do not compromise high performance or durability. However, in order to achieve all these characteristics, silicate-based coatings must be formulated with the right silicone additives. With SILRES® BS, WACKER offers a broad range of additives for different needs.
Specifically, SILRES®BS 338 in silicate paints improves water beading and drastically decreases the water uptake. The additive helps with wetting and leveling for a very even and smooth coating, and also improves the workability of paints.
