2016 AMERICAN COATINGS SHOW - WACKER Presents HDK® Fumed Silica Products for Rheology Control in Coatings Materials and Printing Inks
Adrian, MI, Apr 07, 2016
At the 2016 American Coatings Show in Indianapolis, IN April 12-14, 2016, Booth #1946, WACKER is showcasing its line of HDK® fumed silica products. HDK® performs the all-important function of flow control and behavior in coatings materials, powder coatings and printing inks, adding stable viscosity for improved quality and performance.
HDK® Fumed Silica – For Superior Flow Control
HDK® fumed silica has been produced by WACKER for more than four decades. Known for its exceptional purity and consistent quality, WACKER’s HDK® fumed silica provides rheology control for coatings materials and printing inks. HDK® is also widely used to control the flow of powder coatings. WACKER’s comprehensive range of hydrophobic and hydrophilic HDK® grades improves the performance and stability of formulations, thus imparting superior flow control, sag resistance and anti-settling properties in a variety of coatings.
HDK® H18 – A Most Effective Thixotropic Additive
HDK® H18 is a hydrophobic fumed silica commonly used as a thickening and thixotropic agent in many types of industrial and commercial paints and coatings. It is useful for composites, adhesives and sealants as well. Developed specifically for use in polar systems such as epoxy resins and polyurethanes, it is characterized by a high specific surface area, and has a specific coating which renders it highly hydrophobic. HDK® H18 is ideal for use in high solids, solventless epoxy, polyurethanes and vinyl ester coatings for improved performance, stability and improved handling characteristics.
