SILFOAM® SE 3261
SILFOAM® SE 3261 is a low to medium viscous, water-dispersible high-performance silicone antifoam emulsion.
Properties
Basically, SILFOAM® SE 3261 is recommended for high solids content systems, e.g. recycling processes, where high defoaming and degassing properties must be ensured.
In addition, SILFOAM® SE 3261 is a useful aid which serves as a versatile defoamer in numerous processes in the chemical industry.

Application
SILFOAM® SE 3261 shows a low viscosity, excellent dispersibility, foam control performance and a stable efficiency over a long period in formulations rich in surfactants.
Since it also possesses resistance to alkalis and acids, it may further be used in a wide range of applications in which pH is critical.
Processing
In general, we recommend stirring the emulsion before use (approx. 3 minutes with a propeller stirrer at 200 – 400 rpm).
But be cautious: too high shear can break the emulsion.
The typical dosage for SILFOAM® SE 3261 is in the range of 0.05% and 0.5% referred to the foaming medium. The exact dosage must be determined in preliminary tests.
SILFOAM® SE 3261 can be dosed undiluted, as it is already sufficiently dispersed by its emulsion form.
It can be easily mixed with the foaming system by gentle to moderate stirring.
If the use of SILFOAM® SE 3261 should be necessary in diluted form, we recommend preparing dilutions by stirring SILFOAM® SE 3261 gently into cold water. Dilute solutions should be used up quickly as the more dilute they are, the sooner they tend to separate.

Minimum temperature allowed during storage and transportation: 0 °C
Maximum temperature allowed during storage and transportation: 40 °C
The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
