ETONIS® 7245 A

ETONIS® 7245 A is a poly(vinyl alcohol) stabilized vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer dispersion with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of +23 °C. and is used in asphalt emulsion-based applications. ETONIS® 7245 A imparts excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance, tensile strength, film flexibility, and faster drying time.

Properties

ETONIS® 7245 A can be compounded with asphalt emulsion and is combinable with common additives such as emulsifier, defoamer, thickeners and fillers. In asphalt emulsion, ETONIS® 7245 A is compatible with both cationic and anionic systems. ETONIS® 7245 A improves rheology, softening point, elastic recovery, torsional recovery and tensile strength in residual asphalt. It provides excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance, and fuel resistance in surface treatment applications.

ETONIS® 7245 A is suitable for modifying both anionic and cationic asphalt emulsions where rapid setting, good machining, and easy clean-up properties are required. It is used in waterproofing, roofing, tack coat, chip seal, fog seal, scrub seal, micro surfacing and sealers, and other cold asphalt applications.

If ETONIS® 7245 A is used in applications other than those mentioned, the choice, processing and use of ETONIS® 7245 A is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. All legal and other regulations must be complied with. Slight discoloration may occur without impairing the product's functionality.

ETONIS® 7245 A may be used with both anionic and cationic asphalt emulsions. ETONIS® 7245 A can be incorporated into asphalt emulsion through addition to the soap solution (batch process) or via co-milling (continuous process). It may also be added directly to the asphalt emulsion with minimal stirring. The amount of ETONIS® 7245 A needed to modify cold asphalt emulsions ranges from 1.0 - 5. % v/v relative to the asphalt emulsion. The amounts used in special applications for higher ductility, flexibility and elongation may be considerably higher. The exact amount will depend on the requirements profile.

Storage

During storage, protect the product from contact with moisture. Prolonged storage at temperatures above 30 °C, especially in combination with pressure, humidity or exposure to sunlight, may result in blocking. Carefully seal any open containers and store them under suitable conditions. We recommend storing the product in a warehouse that provides cool and dry conditions. Do not store the product for more than six months, starting from the date at which it was received, unless the Certificate of Analysis contains a different date, which would take precedence. If the product is stored longer than recommended, it may still be used but users are advised to verify the properties required for the intended use.
