“Abhyuthan” – Promotion of education and vocational skill
With the vision of strengthening elementary education at schools, we provide continuous support to around 5000+ rural school children every year with educational kits, computers, benches, wholesome drinking water facilities etc.
We also support technical schools (ITI – Industrial Training Institute) to set-up their technical laboratories and introduces new courses for vocational skill development.
Parallelly, we are also making sincere effort to minimize unemployment through various employability enhancement programs for specific groups like women, HIV positives and other underpriviledged youths with economical hardship. This is contributing to provide a better quality of life to more than 1000s of unskilled youths and their familities every year by securing their livelihoods.
“Sushrusha” – Promotion of preventive and curative health care
Our community health and eye check-up camps, along with preventive health kit distribution, is a meaningful aid to over 5000 people every year in the local communities. We are also effectively impacting 5000+ lives every year through our curative healthcare programs like cataract surgeries, treatments for tuberculosis, cancer, deformities, autism as well as mental health care etc.
We are also strengthening health infrastructure with specialized medical equipment, ambulance etc. in government as well as not-for-profit hospitals that indirectly benefit more than 200,000 lives in a year.
“Ujjivan” – Ensuring environmental sustainability and ecological balance
Climate change, carbon emissions and severe natural calamities are some terms that we frequently hear and remain apprehensive of due to the unpleasant consequences. Measures to combat them now needs more efforts than ever. One of the environmental shields to counter the ever-growing climate challenges is preserving mangroves that provide relief to the human habitats from devastating cyclones formed in the Bay of Bengal. The mangroves are ten times more effective in carbon trapping and arresting soil erosion.
“Krirangan” – Promotion of sports
We promote sports activities among rural children aged between 12 to 14 years through our entry-level football training program. We identify potential kids, especially from rural areas, and provide them a platform to develop their skills. Our eminent coaches train them for qualifying at national level recognized by All India Football Federation (AIFF). We also ensure complementary nutrition for the adequate physical growth of the kids and provide stipend to continue their school education. More than 60 children are reaping benefits out of this initiative.

CSR program 2024 at Wacker Chemie India (WCIN)
Enterprising members from across the organization at Wacker Chemie embarked on the CSR program for 2024. They identified a number of projects, within Mumbai city and the close outskirts, which needed genuine help in the areas of health and education. The projects were put forth to the Management team who approved the spends for the identified projects.
Thus, Wacker Chemie was able to touch the everyday lives of the beneficiaries:
- A sonography machine for maternity use was made available to Stella Maris Hospital, which would cater to ~90 patients every month
- A school bus was bought for the children at Society of Parents of Children with Autistic Disorders to ferry children with autistic disorders to their school
- A solar water heater installed at Pragati Blind School provided hot water to 72 blind students residing in their residential school
- Benches, fans and water cooler were provisioned at Anudatta Vidhyalaya catering to ~350 students
As much as the CSR program made a meaningful impact in the life of the beneficiaries, it gave the CSR team members an enriching experience, providing insight into the needs of institutions which cater to the special needs of the needy in the society.
