WACKER has achieved a top score of A in the Climate category of the CDP’s annual sustainability ratings for 2025. WACKER’s climate protection management has thus been independently honored once again. CDP is a non profit organization that evaluates the transparency and performance of organizations in the categories of Climate, Water and Forests in the world’s most important investor questionnaire.
“We have our sustainability performance independently audited by CDP every year,” says Peter Gigler, head of ESG at WACKER, “so we’re very pleased that we were able to maintain our top rating for the third time in a row.” As a non-profit, CDP (formerly “Carbon Disclosure Project”) has set itself the goal of motivating companies and municipalities to disclose their environmental impact to promote investment in a sustainable economy. To this end, CDP collects and assesses data and information on environmental impacts, targets and strategies on behalf of investors on an annual basis. Participation is voluntary using a standardized questionnaire on the topics of Climate Change, Water Security and Forests. The rating scale corresponds to American school grades from A (leadership, top score) to F (insufficient disclosure of information).
With the top score of A in the Climate category, WACKER was among the best of the more than 22,100 companies assessed worldwide in this category. According to CDP, these companies are characterized by high-quality and complete data that provides a comprehensive overview of environmental impacts and transformation plans. WACKER confirmed its leading position in the Water category too and, as in the previous year, received an A- (Leadership Level). WACKER received a B (Management Level) in the Forests category.
