Silane-Modified Polymers

GENIOSIL^® silane-modified polymers combine the typical properties of silicones and polyurethanes. In addition to being free of isocyanates and solvents, alpha-silane grades do not require tin catalysts for curing. Sealant systems in the GENIOSIL^® product series are soft yet highly elastic. The resultant sealant exhibits adhesion to difficult, and in some cases non-polar, substrates. This makes GENIOSIL^® the material of choice for sealant applications, including the increasingly common use of dissimilar materials.

Sealing with Silane-Modified Polymers

The construction sector looks to hybrid systems when it comes to sealing facades meeting ISO standard 11600 Class 25 (Class 25 LM / Class 25 HM), with defined recovery values. If the application demands a sealant that adheres to a variety of substrates, a hybrid based sealant will fulfill that requirement.
