Wacker Chemical Corporation: Charleston Site Update
On Friday, March 6th, WACKER experienced an incident involving a chemical release and fire at the Charleston facility.
WACKER’s on-site fire department quickly responded to contain and control the incident and Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Response Officials were also present. Out of an abundance of caution, employees in affected areas were instructed to shelter in place while responders contained the incident and assessed conditions. No injuries were reported. The repairs are underway. At this time, we do not expect any supply chain disruptions. Our top priority is always the safety of all employees, contractors, responders and community members.
