North and Central American Innovation Center & Regional Headquarters
The state-of-the-art Innovation Center and Headquarters built in 2022 house world-class laboratories and serves as an advanced research and development hub for our Silicones and Biosolutions business divisions.
The Center is WACKER’s first site to obtain LEED certification, achieving proficiency in sustainable design, construction and operations standards.

Our $2.5 billion state-of-the-art polysilicon plant in Charleston is one of the most modern production facilities for hyperpure polysilicon production in the world. The investment is WACKER’s single largest ever - clearly displaying our commitment to the North American market - while also creating 650 jobs on the 550-acre greenfield site.
WACKER launched its North American business with Wacker Chemical Corporation in 1965. The United States represents the world’s second largest market for chemicals, led only by China. WACKER’s commitment to the US is firm, with its recent acquisition of a silicone coating test and development center in Allentown, PA, and establishment of its North and Central American Innovation Center and Regional Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. Today, WACKER operates 13 sites across North and Central America including eight production facilities and five technical centers/sales offices.
