Growth on the silicone sealants market in Asia is exceptionally strong. Expanding sealant production in Jincheon, South Korea, will benefit WACKER customers across the entire region.

Mold-making compounds made from ELASTOSIL^® silicone rubber are flow-able, durable and easy to process. They cure to elastomers that possess excellent self-release properties and good transparency. ELASTOSIL^® therefore meets all the key requirements on products used for prototyping, where high-volume, economical production is essential.

ELASTOSIL^® silicone rubbers are true all-rounders. Aside from extremely heat-resistant and high-strength grades, the portfolio includes specialty grades that possess magnetic properties. Extrudable solid silicone rubber ELASTOSIL^® R 781/80 is detectable and can be used in a host of applications, such as magnetic closures.

New plant for specialty monomers at WACKER’s Burghausen site: Specialty monomers are key raw materials for the manufacture of specific dispersible polymer powders. With the construction of the new plant, WACKER is strengthening its position as a market and technology leader in this field.

Lab test on color stability: alternating high and low temperatures, UV light and humidity simulate months of outdoor weathering in a lab environment. Even after 1000 hours, the test panel coated with the new dispersion PRIMIS^® AF 1000 formulation (right) is as brightly colored as before, whereas the commercial alternative (left) is showing clear signs of weathering.
