SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X
SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is a pasty platinum catalyst masterbatch that is used to vulcanize the HCR extrusion grades SILPURAN® 8030 and SILPURAN® 8630. SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is designed for medical applications in compliance with the WACKER SILICONES HEALTH CARE POLICY including implantation for < 30 days.
Vulcanizates made from a SILPURAN® base rubber (e.g. SILPURAN ® 8030) and SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X are designed for medical and pharmaceutical applications in compliance with the WACKER SILICONES HEALTH CARE POLICY including implantation for < 30 days.
The required amount of SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is blended into the extrusion grades SILPURAN ® 8030 or SILPURAN® 8630, on a clean and cooled open roller mill with low friction (ratio approx. 1/100 to 2/100). The standard dosage is 1.5 parts calculated on 100 parts of base. Good homogenization is the crucial factor in order to get good properties of the finished rubber good.

The platinum catalyst of SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is inhibited especially by heavy metals, sulphur and amines. These substances have to be excluded during transport, storage and processing.
SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is available in 1 kg cans and 20 kg hobbocks. SILPURAN® CURING AGENT X is neither produced nor packed under sterile conditions, so the final product has to be sterilized prior to use, if necessary.
Please store the containers in a dry and cool place. Once opened, containers should always be resealed after use to avoid any contamination and to prevent the platinum catalyst from being poisoned by amines, sulphur or phosphorus compounds. The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
