SILRES® BS 2001
SILRES® BS 2001 is a water-thinnable, solventless emulsion, based on a mixture of silane and siloxane. Ready to use solutions of SILRES® BS 2001 serve as high quality, general purpose water reqellents for impregnating and priming mineral surfaces. SILRES® BS 2001 emulsion contains a stabilized mixture of silane and siloxanes that are designed to hydralyze once applied to the substrate. Alcohol is released and the emulsion is converted into a silicone resin water repellent. SILRES® BS 2001 reduces the capillary absorption of the building which it has penetrated, but does not clog the pores or capillaries. There is therefore little or no impairment of the building material's ability to breathe. The SILRES® BS 2001 is an excellent water repellent for many absorbent mineral substrates such as brick, natural sandstone, concrete, and mineral plasters. It is not as suitable for substrates such as reinforced concrete for bridges and roads, dense natural limestone and marble. Due to its aqueous consistency and storage stability when diluted, SILRES® BS 2001 is ideal for in-plant impregnation of building materials made of clay, aerated concrete, brick and fibrous cement. SILRES® BS 2001 may also serve as a water repellent primer for emulsion paints and plasters, silicone resin emulsion paints and silicone resin plasters as well.
特性
SILRES® BS 2001 should be blended with water (tap water is suitable) to achieve the desired concentration before application. For most applications dilution rates of 1:4 to 1:9 provide good performance depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Two coats of the solution should be applied using a "wet-on-wet" procedure to ensure complete coverage. SILRES® BS 2001 emulsions can be applied by brushing, spraying or dipping. A test patch should be performed prior to general application with the customer's approval to ensure that desired water repellency and appearance is achieved.
