PRIMIS® KT 3000
PRIMIS® KT 3000 is a drying and setting additive for water borne paints and plasters especially for all coating systems based on VINNAPAS® dispersions.
- Allows application of exterior paints and plasters at critical climatic conditions such as low temperature and high humidity
- Protects against damage from early rain
- Extends the period during which paints and plasters can be applied outside
- Resulting formulations are solvent free
- Compatible with many binder systems
PRIMIS® KT 3000 is a high performance additive for exterior architectural coating applications that should be applied under critical weather conditions like low temperatures and high humidity. Under these conditions, PRIMIS® KT 3000 provides early rain resistance and fast mechanical strength to paints and plasters.
The extent of the acceleration depends on the amount of additive used as well as the composition of the paint and plaster.
PRIMIS® KT 3000 is usually added to the formulation in amounts of 0,1 to 0 ,3 %. It is added at the end of the production process. To customize the setting rate, always test the actual effect on drying / setting in the particular system beforehand.
If the product is used in applications other than those mentioned, the choice, processing and use of the product is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. All legal and other regulations must be complied with.

When the dispersion is stored in tanks, proper storage conditions must be maintained. PRIMIS® KT 3000 has a shelf life of 6 months starting from the date of receipt if stored under cool (below 25 °C) but frost-free conditions in the original, unopened containers. Iron or galvanized-iron containers and equipment are not recommended. Corrosion could result in discoloration of the dispersion or blends made from it in further processing. We therefore recommend the use of containers and equipment made of ceramic, rubberized or enameled materials, appropriately finished stainless steel, or plastic (rigid PVC, polyethylene or polyester resin).
As polymer dispersions may tend to superficial film formation, skins or lumps may be formed during storage or transportation. A filtration process is thus recommended prior to utilization of the product.
Preservation for transport, storage and further processing
PRIMIS® KT 3000 is adequately preserved during transportation and storage if kept in the original, unopened containers. The compatibility and effectiveness of the preservatives should be checked for a given formulation. Preservative manufacturers will be able to advise you on the type and amount of conservation agent to use.
