ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US
ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US is one side of a two component, heat vulcanizing silicone rubber adhesive. ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US is used primarily for fast bonding of vulcanized silicone rubber to itself. Especially in the case of larger flat shapes.

ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US and C needs to be mixed at a ratio of 100:1, C:B. Before gluing, the surfaces should be cleaned with a solvent, e.g. chemically pure Acetone. After thoroughly mixing of the component C with component B the silicone adhesive should be applied in a thin layer. After fixing the parts under low pressure the vulcanization occurs at a temperature of 340°F (170 °C). The vulcanization time depends on the heat transfer of the parts, but the bonded area is vulcanized in approx. 30 sec. after reaching 340 °F. The adhesion will be improved by post curing.
ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US Silicone Rubber Compound is designed specifically for use in high voltage applications. Suspension and line post insulators and surge arrestors molded from ELASTOSIL® R 3112 B US possess excellent resistance to arcing and tracking, increasing the reliability and reducing power interruptions.

Storage beyond the date specified on the Certificate of Analysis does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
