Before taking component A out of the container or adding the catalyst, stir the material thoroughly, but not at high shear rates. Do never use dissolver mixers. Components A and B can be mixed by hand or with metering equipment. The material must be evacuated before application to remove enclosed bubbles.

To achieve adhesion, any substrates have to be pretreaed with Primer G 790.

Chemical resistance:
ELASTOSIL® S 699 A/B exhibits the silicone rubber typical properties such as high resistance to ozone, chemicals such as alcohols, phenols, glycols and other polar solvents, as well as aqeous detergents. It shows limited resistance to ketones, esters, aromatic and alipatic hydrocarbons (e. g. fuels, gasoline, kerosene etc.), those substances lead to a temporary and reversible volume swell of the silicone vulcanisate. Critical are strong alkaline and acidic substances.

The platinum catalyst is in the A-component

Silicone Elastomer for abradable seals, e. g. in compressors, turbofans and turbine engines.

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
