Data sheets

Proper application of this product is critical.

  • Allow adequate ventilation.  Wear eye protection.
  • This product is intended to be applied at full strength; as supplied by the manufacturer.
  • Temperature and humidity will affect your application experience.  50% Relative Humidity at 70 °F is ideal.
  • Both higher temperature and/or higher humidity will speed up the drying process.  Adjust for changes in these conditions during application or seek different application conditions.
  • With this in mind, one thicker coat of at least 6 wet mils provides the best combination of ease-of-application and finished product performance.
  • Two thinner coatings (approximately 4 wet mills each) may be desirable if SILRES® BS 720 A will be used to correct irregularities in the substrate or if application temperature and/or humidity are beyond optimal.
  • Apply painter’s tape to create borders for the desired size and shape “board”.
  • Roller or brush application is recommended.  In our experience, a foam roller produces the best results.
  • Apply as much product (up to 8 wet mils) as will adhere without slumping.
  • Removing tape within 2 hours of application is recommended.  Even if you intend to apply a second coat.
  • Product will be dry to the touch in 24 hours.
  • Surface anomalies produced from the wall, brush or roller may be removed with a light sanding after 24 hours.
  • Wipe sanding residue with cheese cloth or tacky rag to remove powder residue before the second coat is applied.
  • Re-tape area before second coat is applied.
  • Remember to remove tape within 2 hours after application.
  • Product will be dry to the touch in 24 hours.
  • Allow product to cure for 3-7 days (longer for lower humidity environments) before placing in service.

The above statements are made for informational purposes only and do not constitute any kind of warranty or guarantee. Proper storage, curing, use, humidity, conditions, and application are the sole responsibility of the user.

Storage

The “Best use before end” date of each batch is shown on product label.  Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean the product is no longer usable.  In this case however, the properties required for intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.

This product cures with exposure to moisture.  When opened and resealed, the moisture that entered the container will react until completely consumed.  This will form a skin.  The skin may be removed and the remaining content may be used.
