PULPSIL® 278 C
PULPSIL® 278 C is a highly viscous, alkaline resistant, extremely efficient, solvent and water-free silicone antifoam compound, especially developed for use in pulp mills.

PULPSIL® 278 C is primary designed for pulp washing process but can be used for other industries and defoaming applications.
For high efficiency it is necessary that PULPSIL® 278 C be well dispersed in the foaming medium. Therefore PULPSIL® 278 C can be added only in neat form if high amounts of surfactants and/or high shear forces ensure a good dispersion.
Preferably PULPSIL® 278 C should be added in emulsion form. The use as a booster to organic defoamers is also possible, but sufficient compatibility of PULPSIL® 278 C with the organic system has to be guaranteed. When used in a suitable formulation like an emulsion, PULPSIL® 278 C is an excellent antifoam agent, especially recommended for the use in different pulp processing steps like washing, screening, bleaching and waste water treatment.
The product is thixotropic. Weak stirring is necessary to reduce the viscosity.

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
