Elastosil CM 146 US
Elastosil® CM 146 is a silicone product which ceramifies at higher temperatures. Used as a coating in battery housings as thermal barrier. The Elastosil® CM 146 is used as a fire-resistant coating for battery and electronic devices for the electronics and automotive industry. When processed with the curing agent of WACKER® Catalyst T 77 a self bonding and durable silicone rubber is formed.
Properties
Elastosil® CM 146 is a shear thining, sprayable, condensation curing, two part 10:1 silicone rubber that cures at room temperature with moisture. The cure product stays slightly tacky and deformable. At very high temperatures (>600°C) the cured product reacts to a hard ceramic shielding with excellent thermal insulating performance.

This is a two part 10:1 system. Elastosil® CM 146 is cure 10:1 with Wacker® Catalyst T 77. This is a condensation cure system which cures at room temperature under the influence of atmospheric moisture. Full cure can take up to 7 days.
Packaging
Elastosil® CM 146 is available in 25 kg pails.
Storage
Elastosil® CM 146 has a shelf life of at least 6 months. The "Best use before" end date of each batch is shown on the product. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
