US Employees Are Dedicated to Nature Conservation and Species Diversity

Adrian, Oct 26, 2017

The Wildlife Habitat team at Wacker Chemical Corporation’s Adrian site has been achieving a great deal in terms of nature conservation and species diversity since 1999. Since the company’s foundation 18 years ago, over 1,000 bluebird chicks have fledged on site. Today, this WACKER team looks after 25 bluebird houses – an important contribution toward preserving this species of native bird.

Employees involved in the Adrian site’s wildlife project celebrate fledging over 1,000 bluebird chicks.

The Wildlife Habitat team aims to promote the site’s wild environs and to involve employees in developing and maintaining these areas. Bluebirds, bats and butterflies are among the wildlife cared for by the five teams of WACKER employees at the Adrian site in Michigan, USA.

Bluebirds are native to Adrian, Michigan, USA and the Midwest United States.

Staff members look after a 1.3 mile nature trail and have planted several hundred native species of tree. The garden team tends the flowerbeds by planting bee and butterfly-friendly species. The Wildlife Habitat Council – a division of the American Chemical Society – honored WACKER employees’ dedication to nature conservation and species diversity by recertifying Adrian’s gold status.
