Paul Lindblad, President of WACKER Greater China, was awarded Shanghai’s 2018 “Magnolia Gold Award” after winning the "Magnolia Silver Award" in 2016. Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong recently presented Paul Lindblad with the badge and certificate in Shanghai. “I feel greatly honored to receive Shanghai’s Magnolia Gold Award. As a medium-sized company, WACKER has always been committed to contributing as much as possible to the local community. This award is the Shanghai Municipal Government’s recognition of our constant efforts,” said Paul Lindblad on accepting the award. “Shanghai is an international metropolis with great vision and enormous potential. Going forward, WACKER will leverage the advantages of this city which is the home of our regional headquarters, strengthen our local R&D capacities, and increase our investment in China. We take our corporate social responsibility seriously, and we are determined to pursue sustainable development with China as it enters a new era.”

Paul Lindblad has been working in the WACKER Group for nearly 30 years, having held various responsibilities in the US, Singapore and Germany successively. In January 2013, Paul Lindblad was appointed President of WACKER Greater China. Under his leadership, WACKER Greater China has not only secured its position as the Group's largest single market, but has also strengthened its local R&D competence by expanding the Shanghai R&D Center and establishing global competence centers for personal care, e-mobility and other industries. Since 2017, the company has also entered a new phase of continuous investment in China.

As Deputy Chair of the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Foreign Investment Committee of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), Paul Lindblad has been committed to promoting Responsible Care, sharing best practices, and promoting vocational education for the chemical industry, to help improve the Chinese chemical industry's EHS performance.

By introducing new policies, Mr. Lindblad also encourages and supports staff members who decide to participate in charitable activities. For example, WACKER employees have been continuously making donations to the WACKER school in Sichuan, as part of the company’s efforts to support education in remote areas. Other activities include spending time on public service activities in the local community, for example, by reading stories to kids at Shanghai Children's Home since 2017.
