Farsightedness and Resolve: 100 Years of WACKER

On October 13, 1914, the businessman Alexander Wacker registered a company called “Dr. Alexander Wacker Gesellschaft für elektrochemische Industrie KG.” With 450 employees, his factory began producing acetone for synthetic rubber in the Bavarian town of Burghausen in the middle of the First World War. Today, one hundred years later, Wacker Chemie AG is a global company with some 16,000 employees, who are involved in the development, production and sale of numerous chemical products and solutions.
