Product Carbon Footprint - Scope 3 carbon footprint
WACKER aims to achieve net zero by 2045 and to reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030.
Additionally, WACKER’s aims is to reduce upstream greenhouse gas emissions from purchased raw materials by 25 percent by 2030.
In order to manage the emission reduction, it is crucial to establish a common understanding of the calculation methodology with suppliers.
Standards and guidelines issued by the Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative provide guidance.
Suppliers are requested to apply this methodology.
By 2030, we will cut our absolute upstream greenhouse gas emissions by 25%

Why do we want you to deal with the TfS PCF guideline?
As a member of Together for Sustainability (TfS), WACKER urges all of you to do your utmost to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the chemical industry and asks you to join the TfS Campaign “Let’s decarbonize chemical supply chains together.”
TfS Product Carbon Footprint Guideline
Together for Sustainability launches a step-by-step guide to help chemical suppliers to more precisely calculate the carbon footprint of their products – Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) – in a way that is harmonized across the industry. It’s called the PCF Guideline. The first of its kind for the chemical industry, the PCF Guideline offers specific guidance on PCF calculation requirements unique to the industry, building on commonly used international standards for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting. This video provides more information on this PCF Guideline and the benefits for both suppliers and corporations.
