BELSIL® DADM 3240 E – Innovative Strength for Silky Smooth Hair

Two protect better than one

What does the new BELSIL® DADM 3240 E have that conventional dimethicone emulsions do not? BELSIL® DADM 3240 E silicone co-emulsion consists of an amodimethicone crosspolymer (orange) and a dimethicone (yellow). Thanks to its network structure (blue dots), the novel crosspolymer is particularly effective in enveloping the hair – depositing itself preferentially on badly damaged hair. Making the hair look cared-for and healthy again.

Considerable formulation flexibility

BELSIL® DADM 3240 E is a true all-rounder. The new co-emulsion is compatible with all conventional surfactant systems: it can be used in both sulfate-containing and sulfate-free shampoos. In addition, it is easy to process with surfactants, thickeners and deposition agents.

A perfect combination of formulation stability and foam

The new co-emulsion has the potential to become a favorite of the formulators. Since BELSIL® DADM 3240 E can be admixed without lowering the viscosity of the formulation or impairing the foaming properties of the shampoo. Thus BELSIL® DADM 3240 E is process-compatible from the start.

Sulfate-free shampoos:
Silkiness of damaged hair

Shampoos containing BELSIL® DADM 3240 E (dark-red bar) improve the silkiness of damaged hair by more than twice as much as shampoos containing conventional dimethicones (purple bar). This is a genuine technological advance. Especially as just 0.8% silicone is enough to generate this effect in mild, sulfate-free shampoos. Conventional silicone emulsions cannot produce such effects.

Wet-Combing Taken to the Limit

Wet hair is delicate and breaks easily. If tangles have formed during washing, it must be treated with extra care. Thanks to the novel co-emulsion BELSIL® DADM 3240 E, combs slip effortlessly through the wet hair, thereby preventing further damage.

With BELSIL® DADM 3240 E, wet hair is much easier to comb. Compared with commercial dimethicone emulsions (purple bar), wet combability is improved by 16.5 percentage points and by as much as 25 percentage points compared with silicone-free formulations (blue bar).

Conditioner:
Surface friction after several hair washes

BELSIL® DADM 3240 E imparts long-lasting silkiness to bleached or dyed hair. The combination of dimethicone and amodimethicone crosspolymer is therefore also extremely effective for formulating conditioners.

Just 0.5% BELSIL® DADM 3240 E (dark-red bar) is enough to markedly reduce surface friction on the hair. The conditioning effect is still very noticeable even after several shampoos, unlike the case for commercial conditioners (purple bar).
