Theoretical expertise and practical experience are the cornerstones of the WACKER ACADEMY team. With backgrounds in sales or technology, our experts come to the table with extensive application knowledge. They are also trained instructors and moderators with a sixth sense for current trends and market developments.

Dr. Christoph Beyer

Dr. Christoph Beyer is a chemist and studied at the Technical University of Munich and Regensburg University. After finishing his doctoral thesis on organic chemistry, he began his career at WACKER in 2011, as a deputy operations manager. As technical manager at WACKER POLYMERS, he has led the applications laboratory for surface coatings resins since 2016. In 2017, he has also became a WACKER ACADEMY trainer.

Dr. Linrong Gu

Lingrong (Linna) joined WACKER right after completing a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Clemson University in South Carolina. She is the technical manager in the SPI business team responsible for developing new defoaming and anti-foam products for various industries. Linna also holds an MS in Polymer Chemistry and Physics and a BS in Chemistry from Zhejiang University in China.

Dr. Jörg Heinlein

Dr. Jörg Heinlein, after his studies, began work as technical service manager for effect pigments based on liquid crystalline polymers. Later on he was responsible for market development for optical film applications with liquid crystalline polymers. In 2011, he conducted – as technical service manager for HDK fumed silica – his first training courses for WACKER SILICONES distribution partners. His focus was on coatings and composites. Since then, he has been part of the WACKER ACADEMY training team.

Adolf Himpsl

Adolf Himpsl started his WACKER career in R&D for organic intermediates. Following a transfer to technical support at Construction Polymers, he was involved in setting up, equipping and supporting the first global technical centers in São Paulo and Singapore in 1998. Since then, he has implemented numerous training programs, both internal and external, and is a co-founder of the WACKER ACADEMY.

Dr. Marion Killat

Dr. Marion Killat studied at the University of Kaiserslautern, earning a doctorate in chemistry. Following a post-doctoral stay in the USA,she started her career at WACKER in 2000, joining the R&D department of WACKER POLYMERS. Since 2006, she has been a member of the WACKER ACADEMY training team, for diverse WACKER POLYMERS applications.

Michael Killermann

Michael Killermann joined WACKER’s analytical department in 1992. From 1996 to 2008, he worked as a lab technician in the Building & Coatings business team, where he was in charge of technical distributor support for industrial coatings. He was recruited to the WACKER ACADEMY training team as a practical instructor in May 2008.

Dr. Ulrich Lauter

Dr. Ulrich Lauter studied chemistry in Regensburg and obtained his doctorate at the Max-Planck Institute of Polymer Research in Mainz. He first came to WACKER in 2012, following a postdoc position in the USA and 14 years at Vinnolit in the research, development and application technology department. He is currently technical service manager of the VINNOL® surface coating resins segment.

Woo-Jae Lee

Woo-Jae Lee joined the AD/TS team for the Industrial Coating Polymers market segment at Wacker Chemicals Korea in 2012. He holds a master’s degree in Organic Synthesis and over 15 years he has gained extensive experience with a variety of waterborne dispersions. He is currently the technical manager for the Adhesives and Carpet & Paper market segments in the NEA/SEA/ANZ territories.
