Theoretical expertise and practical experience are the cornerstones of the WACKER ACADEMY team. With backgrounds in sales or technology, our experts come to the table with extensive application knowledge. They are also trained instructors and moderators with a sixth sense for current trends and market developments.
Construction Materials Instructors
Dr. Hartmut Ackermann
Dr. Hartmut Ackermann studied chemistry in Marburg an der Lahn, earning his PhD in inorganic chemistry. He joined WACKER in 2000 as a process chemist for the methyl resin plant. Alongside his work at WACKER, Dr. Ackermann was active in R&D support in the field of industrial coatings at Akzo. Since 2006, he has been technical marketing manager for Construction Chemicals, supporting customers in EMEA/LATAM. Dr. Ackermann also has several years’ experience as a customer-training instructor.
Ruben Akopyan joined WACKER in May 2011 as a technical assistant in the Polymers division, working in the Moscow technical center. He has been a technical manager for Construction Polymers since January 2012. He is currently responsible for seminars, laboratory testing and customer support for customers in Russia and Armenia.
Malik Jamal Jaffar Ali
Malik holds a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and has co-authored several patents. He joined WACKER in 2011 and currently heads its technical centers in Southeast Asia. He is a frequent speaker at symposiums and seminars related to his area of expertise on the advantages of polymer-modified dry-mix mortar applications.
Dr. Udo Anders
Dr. Udo Anders has been working as a technical marketing manager at WACKER SILICONES since 2015. He oversees technical support within Construction Chemicals. He is responsible for water-repellant treatments for concrete protection with a focus on surface treatment and integral waterproofing as well as for the new binder technology for concrete floor protection (SILRES BS 6920).
Amanda joined WACKER in 2011 as a chemist in the Construction Chemicals business team, having previously worked at ICI Paint, Flint Ink, Akzo Nobel and BASF. She holds an MS in Materials and Chemical Synthesis from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a BSc in Polymers and Coatings Technology from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently the technical manager for the Decorative Coatings, Anti-stain and Enhancers market segment.
Anna Artamonova joined WACKER Russia in 2008 as a technical assistant for Construction Polymers. Since May 2018, she has been a technical manager for Polymer Dispersions at the Moscow technical center. She has an education in organic chemical engineering. With a focus on Coatings, she is responsible for technical support, laboratory trials and seminars for customers in Russia and CIS countries.
Dr. Christoph Beyer
Dr. Christoph Beyer is a chemist and studied at the Technical University of Munich and Regensburg University. After finishing his doctoral thesis on organic chemistry, he began his career at WACKER in 2011, as a deputy operations manager. As technical manager at WACKER POLYMERS, he has led the applications laboratory for surface coatings resins since 2016. In 2017, he has also became a WACKER ACADEMY trainer.
Before joining WACKER in 2013, Il-Joon Choi worked as a technical and sales manager in the construction industry for 9 years. Il-Joon Choi is a technical manger for construction dispersions and polymer powders at the WACKER Seoul technical center. In addition to dry-mix mortars, he also has extensive experience in infrastructure and concrete. Since 2018, he has worked on new concrete business development in the Asia region.
Hanson holds an Advanced Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, with major in Polymer Technology, and has worked in the coatings industry for over 17 years. He joined WACKER in 2012, and currently heads its technical center for the Construction Silicones market segment in the Southeast Asia region.
Anoop D’Souza holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and has been with WACKER since 2005 as a team leader for Construction Silicones. He heads the Construction Silicones business unit for the Middle East and Africa, with a focus on Construction Sealants, Adhesives and Construction Silicones. He has supported the WACKER ACADEMY training team since 2009 and has been involved in a variety of training activities for sales managers, consultants, contractors and end-users, where he has gained extensive experience in training norms and guidelines.
Dr. Dmitry Davydov
Dr. Vadim Epstein
Vadim Epstein holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. In 1996, he took a position as R&D director at GLIMS Production. He has been a technical manager for Construction Polymers at the WACKER Moscow technical center since December 2013, where he is in charge of lab trials, technical support and seminars for customers in Russia and Ukraine.
Victoria holds a Bachelor of Chemistry degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. She joined WACKER in 2017 as a chemist in the Decorative Coatings Group. She brings over 20 years of experience in formulating coatings, including solvent- and water-based systems as decorative and functional coatings serving conventional architectural, elastomer, electrical conductive and roofing markets. Her prior employers include Valspar / Sherwin-Williams, Quest Construction Products (now part of GAF) and Sto Corp.
Dr. Jörg Heinlein
Dr. Jörg Heinlein, after his studies, began work as technical service manager for effect pigments based on liquid crystalline polymers. Later on he was responsible for market development for optical film applications with liquid crystalline polymers. In 2011, he conducted – as technical service manager for HDK fumed silica – his first training courses for WACKER SILICONES distribution partners. His focus was on coatings and composites. Since then, he has been part of the WACKER ACADEMY training team.
Dr. Dieter Heldmann
Dr. Dieter Heldmann studied at the University of Regensburg, earning a doctorate in organic chemistry. Following a postdoctoral period at ETH Zurich, he started his career at WACKER’s Corporate Research & Development department. Since 2006, as senior technical manager, he has supervised the use of silicone products in industrial-coating applications, in particular binders for heat-resistant coatings.
Adolf Himpsl started his WACKER career in R&D for organic intermediates. Following a transfer to technical support at Construction Polymers, he was involved in setting up, equipping and supporting the first global technical centers in São Paulo and Singapore in 1998. Since then, he has implemented numerous training programs, both internal and external, and is a co-founder of the WACKER ACADEMY.
Vaibhavi Jogadia joined WACKER in 2018 as a technical service assistant in the Mumbai technical center. She had previously worked in a corporate quality assurance team at a pharmaceutical organization. She has been involved in training for construction applications from the start of her career at WACKER. She holds a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry.
Before joining WACKER in 2010, Chul-kyu worked at Henkel & Lucky Silicone since 2003. He is currently the Application Development & Technical Support manager for the Construction Sealants & Adhesives business team in Asia. He has 15 years of experience with construction silicone sealants & adhesives – including hybrid materials.
Abbas Kanisan holds bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Physical Science. He has been with WACKER since 2008 as a technical manager for Construction Polymers in the MEA region. He has supported the WACKER ACADEMY training team since 2009 and has been involved in customer training and seminars for the past few years. He is a certified ISO 9001:2000 auditor and has supported our ISO 17025 accreditation.
Dr. Marion Killat
Dr. Marion Killat studied at the University of Kaiserslautern, earning a doctorate in chemistry. Following a post-doctoral stay in the USA,she started her career at WACKER in 2000, joining the R&D department of WACKER POLYMERS. Since 2006, she has been a member of the WACKER ACADEMY training team, for diverse WACKER POLYMERS applications.
Michael Killermann joined WACKER’s analytical department in 1992. From 1996 to 2008, he worked as a lab technician in the Building & Coatings business team, where he was in charge of technical distributor support for industrial coatings. He was recruited to the WACKER ACADEMY training team as a practical instructor in May 2008.
Kyoungmo Koo joined Wacker Chemicals Korea in 2017 as part of the Construction Silicones team. From 2009 to 2017, he worked as a researcher in the Insulation & Fire-Resistance development team. There he took part in the development work of fire-resistance paint and the testing of water-repellents in insulating materials. He has worked as a technical manager for Construction Silicones at Wacker Chemicals Korea since March 2017.
Dr. Ulrich Lauter
Dr. Ulrich Lauter studied chemistry in Regensburg and obtained his doctorate at the Max-Planck Institute of Polymer Research in Mainz. He first came to WACKER in 2012, following a postdoc position in the USA and 14 years at Vinnolit in the research, development and application technology department. He is currently technical service manager of the VINNOL® surface coating resins segment.
A technical manager for Construction Silicones in South America, Pedro Marani holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry, both from the University of São Paulo, as well as an MBA in Innovation Management from Business School São Paulo. He has over a decade of work experience in the construction chemicals industry in companies such as Dow Chemical and MC-Bauchemie. Working at WACKER Brazil since 2013, his main activities involve silicone specialties for the construction and coatings industry, as well as developing new applications and solutions for the local market.
Peer Mohammed holds a master’s degree in Chemistry from American College in India and joined WACKER as a technical manager for Construction Silicones in the MEA region. He has over 20 years of diversified experience in R&D, product development and technical service in the paint and coatings industry.
Dr. Satoshi Ohno
Jaydeep Patel holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master of Technology degree in Rubber Technology from India. He has been with WACKER since 2015 as a technical manager for Engineering Silicones in the MEA region. He previously worked as a senior manager for technical services and applications at Dow Chemical in India for over seven years, and as a research and development manager for CEAT Tires in India for over two years.
Andrew, a chemist in the Construction Silicones business team, has been with WACKER since 2014. He is responsible for formulating new and existing products for use in the decorative coatings market, and for giving technical support to customers using WACKER products. Andrew holds a BS in Molecular Biology from Liberty University. Prior to working with WACKER, he was a quality assurance chemist at Chemtura / Great Lakes Chemical.
Andreas Peic joined SILICONES after completing his chemical training at WACKER in 2008. As a member of the Construction Chemicals business team, his responsibilities have included technical support for gypsum, boards and insulating materials. Since 2010, he has been a trainer for SILRES® construction applications at the WACKER ACADEMY. Alongside his job at WACKER, he is currently training to become a certified chemical technician.
Dr. Ingmar Piglosiewicz
Dr. Ingmar Piglosiewicz worked, after his PhD thesis, as JSPS Research Fellow on Porous Coordination Polymers at Kyoto University in Japan. After working as technical service manager for special solvents and gas absorption fluids at Clariant Produkte GmbH, he joined Wacker Chemie AG as technical service manager for fumed silica. His focus was on adhesives and imaging systems. Since 2011, he has been a member of the WACKER ACADEMY training team.
Dr. Priti Pillay
Priti Pillay joined WACKER in 2008. She is responsible for technical services, training and product development in Construction Polymers.
Christian Putz is technical service manager within the Construction Chemicals business team at WACKER SILICONES. The certified paints and lacquers engineer has been with WACKER since 1998. He has been working as technical service manager for SILRES® silicone resin emulsion paints and plasters for the construction industry since 2007.
Jayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Mapua Insitute of Technology in the Philippines. With years of experience in architectural and industrial coatings in the Philippines and in Singapore, she joined WACKER in 2016 and is responsible for technical service support in Singapore, the Philippines and Myanmar.
Mohammed Sanaobar is the regional technical director and head of WACKER ACADEMY. He has been with WACKER since 2006. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Project Management.
Georgy Syaduk graduated from Moscow State University, Chemistry department. He joined WACKER’s Construction Silicones business unit in May 2009 as a technical manager. He is responsible for laboratory trials, training, seminars and technical support for customers in Russia and CIS countries. Since May 2011, he is responsible for training facilities as head of the WACKER ACADEMY in Moscow.
Alex holds a master’s degree in Polymer Science and Technology from Loughborough University in the UK. He joined WACKER in 2012 and is responsible for technical service support in Malaysia and Thailand.
George is the technical service manager for Wacker Chemical Corporation’s Construction Polymers Business Unit – Americas. George has been with WACKER since September 2009 and has more than 38 years of experience in the construction chemicals industry. George manages a team of chemists and technicians at the Allentown facility responsible for the technical support of WACKER POLYMERS customers throughout North America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Vermont. He came to WACKER from BASF, where he was the group leader for Cementitious Products & EIFS. Previously, he had been the R&D manager for Harris Specialty Chemicals / Thoro Systems.
Fouzan Thakur graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and he additionally holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Operations Management. He joined Wacker Chemicals Middle East as an application engineer in 2013 and currently holds the position of technical manager for the Construction Polymers business unit. As the quality management officer, he oversees the implementation of ISO 17025 guidelines in the activities of the technical center and, as the management representative, conducts and organizes internal and external audits.
Dr. Anna Tsareva
Anna Tsareva holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. She joined WACKER in March 2014 as a technical manager at the Moscow technical center. She is responsible for Silicone Elastomers laboratory trials, training and technical support for customers in Russia and CIS countries.
Dr. Sergei Udra
Sergei Udra holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Moscow State University. He joined WACKER’s Construction Silicones business unit in December 2016 as a technical manager. He is responsible for conducting lab trials and for providing training, seminars and technical support for customers in Russia and CIS countries. His specializations are hybrid materials for adhesives, sealants and coatings.
