WACKER Helps to develop Reading Interests of Disadvantaged Chinese Children
Shanghai, Mar 12, 2018
WACKER HELP, WACKER Greater China’s regional relief organization, is helping a children’s home in Shanghai to promote the joys of reading among the children there. One of the projects WACKER and a team of employee volunteers are involved in is updating the library facilities.

Looking to the future, WACKER Greater China employees want to hold regular reading groups at the children’s home in Shanghai and they plan to hire a reading teacher to introduce the children to the world of books. A team of employee volunteers will also use software to classify the thousands of books donated to the home’s library.
CD players and children’s headphones have also been donated by WACKER Executive Board member Dr. Christian Hartel and president of WACKER Greater China Paul Lindblad to give the children access to audiobooks.
WACKER Greater China employees work as volunteers for WACKER HELP, the charitable initiative founded in 2005 with the aim of improving the educational opportunities of disadvantaged children. The initiative provides long-term support for a school in the Chinese province of Sichuan.
