Forever and ever?
We have something against unwanted graffiti and illegally applied stickers or posters! With our specially developed silicone coating, walls and walls can be easily cleaned with water - and if works of art are supposed to stay on, as on the Berlin Wall or the Street Art Master Banksy's, our coating forms a protective film.
Unwanted graffiti can be found again and again and everywhere. Buildings, trains, stations or underpasses are particularly affected. Once the wall or train is smeared, it is often up to the local authorities, public services or even the railroad operators to remove the dirt. In Germany alone, this is estimated to cost over 500 million euros every year. In the USA, according to the Ministry of Justice, the costs are around twelve billion US dollars per year.
We have the solution: SILRES® BS 710 enables permanent anti-graffiti coatings that are open to diffusion and from which graffiti and posters can be easily removed with water. The coating can be transparent or pigmented and can be painted over later.
Permanent anti-graffiti coatings
They not only protect the surfaces, but also make it easier to remove paint and adhesives: Permanent anti-graffiti coatings. The liquid, one-component, room-temperature-curing silicone rubber SILRES® BS 710 is responsible for these properties. It can be easily applied or sprayed on as a transparent or pigmented coating in a temperature window between 5 °C and 30 °C. On contact with atmospheric moisture, the silicone rubber crosslinks from the outside to the inside: After about 4 hours, a strong, permanently adhesive silicone film has formed.Learn more about the chemistry behind it!
Strong through Silicones
SILRES® BS 710 combines two outstanding graffiti protection properties: the silicone rubber shows excellent adhesion to various mineral substrates. It is particularly effective on concrete, brick, plaster, sandstone, lime sandstone and natural stone. But can also be used on wood and coated metal. And it develops a strongly anti-adhesive film, with hardly any affinity for spray paints or poster glues. That is because silicones have much lower surface tension than spray paints or poster adhesives. If treated with primers, even non-mineral surfaces, such as plastics, glass or metal, can be protected.
Other properties typical of silicones also pay off:
- water-vapor permeability The crosslinked silicone film is vapor permeable, and allows moisture diffusion within the facade.
- Temperature Resistance SILRES® BS 710 withstand heat and frost.
- UV and Weathering Resistance The protective effect is not damaged by direct sunlight or heavy rain either.
Easy to Apply, Effective Protection
The pictures show how easy and effective it is to use SILRES® BS 710.
Cleaning the Surface
First remove old graffiti, dirt and stickers with a high-pressure cleaner and cold water. Then allow the surface to dry.
Apply SILRES® BS 710
SILRES® BS 710 can be applied with a brush, a roller or a spray gun. Once the surface is no longer tacky, it is completely protected. This takes roughly 4 hours, depending on the climate.
Spraying on Graffiti
Graffiti is sprayed onto a prepared wall. Felt-tip pens can also be used.
Removal of Graffiti
Graffiti paints do not adhere well to surfaces treated with SILRES® BS 710. The paints can therefore be easily removed with a damp cloth or sponge.
Large-area graffiti is most easily removed with a high-pressure cleaner.
Posters and Stickers
Posters and stickers can be easily peeled off. Protection is permanent and does not need to be repeated after each cleaning.
