Courage to create: Women’s Circle to create collaborative painting virtually to celebrate its 10th anniversary

Burghausen/Nünchritz/Munich, Oct 11, 2022

A decade ago a small group of dedicated employees founded the WACKER Women’s Circle. Now more than 160 women groupwide belong to the network, which stands for self-initiative and diversity in the company. They are taking the motto #Mutzugestalten (courage to create) literally and are collaborating on the creation of a large painting at their virtual anniversary celebration.

Passing on impulses and positive experiences to encourage women in their personal and professional development – our WACKER Women's Circle has been pursuing this vision for a decade now. The women’s network invited members to take part in a virtual joint initiative at its anniversary celebration: due to the pandemic, the women – accompanied by music for the whole evening – will collaborate on a large painting consisting of individually painted canvases. Under the motto #Mutzugestalten, a diverse work of art has been created, which was presented in a “vernissage roadshow” at the Munich and Burghausen sites. The multifaceted painting will have its final resting place in the new WACKER headquarters in Munich’s Werksviertel district.

“Our collective work is as diverse as our network,” explained Elena Boltos from the Women’s Circle's Executive Committee. “This creative initiative was a fitting way to celebrate our anniversary, in spite of the pandemic.” The vernissage was accompanied by an opinion survey aimed at finding out the opinions of members and also colleagues within the Group. The evaluation showed that the employees mainly associated dedication and development support with the Women’s Circle. Equality and support of younger colleagues were mentioned as future issues for the Women’s Circle.

Member of the Executive Board and personnel director, Angela Wörl, took part in the collective creative evening and was at the vernissage at the Burghausen site: “The open, inspiring atmosphere of the joint initiative reflects the creativity and diversity of our Women’s Circle. As patron, I welcome this vibrant network where women help to shape our company.”
