Holla – Shortly before midnight on the night of June 2–3, a fatal workplace accident occurred at WACKER’s site in Holla, Norway. While working on a conveyor belt, an incident occurred for reasons that are still unknown, causing a 58-year-old employee to suffer head injuries. Despite immediate rescue efforts, it was too late to save the man. He died at the scene.

Together with all the employees at the plant, we would like to express our profound sadness over the incident. Our thoughts are especially with the family of the deceased. An employee who witnessed the accident, as well as other affected employees, are receiving psychological support.

The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. WACKER is cooperating with the police and authorities to fully clarify the facts of the matter.
