A creative approach to raising awareness of single-use plastic items in everyday life
Plastic bottles are some of the most common single-use plastics. Since most plastics are not biodegradable, reducing their usage is an important step towards a more sustainable future. WACKER takes part in this effort. Creating a sustainable lifestyle is the guiding principle behind each project of the CSR team.
To raise awareness of the plastic waste produced from the single-use drink bottles consumed during meetings, the team took three months to collect 200 pieces of the used ones to build a Christmas tree, and later converted them into last year's Chinese New Year’s zodiac, Rat! Even the decorations were recycled, with some donated by the colleagues.
