Customized silicone elastomers for solutions in the megatrends of electromobility, renewable energies and the expansion of electricity grids
Karlovy Vary is WACKER’s newest site in the Czech Republic. The plant focuses on the production of silicone specialties like RTV-2 silicones (room-temperature-vulcanizing) and ready-to use solid silicone rubber compounds (HCR).
The site is closely interlinked with our Burghausen production for the supply of raw materials required for the compounding and mixing in Karlovy Vary.
Megatrends such as electromobility, renewable energies and health care are the main drivers for the silicone business. With an overall investment in the low triple-digit million-euro range, WACKER lays the foundation to fulfill the growing market demand for highly specialized RTV-2 and HCR silicone products in these markets. When fully operational, Karlovy Vary will be able to supply over 20,000 metric tons of silicones per year.
