The plant, which is situated 160 km northwest of Kolkata and stretches across an area of 165,000 m², manufactures room-temperature-curing and heat-curing solid silicone rubber, liquid silicone rubber and SILMIX® ready-to-use silicone compounds, important products that offer a solution to the ever increasing demand in India.

The Panagarh site has excellent infrastructure and a very good connection to the Indian railway and road networks, which ensures the convenient distribution of WACKER products across the whole country.

The issue of sustainability played a key role in the construction of the production plant, for example, river water is provided for the production via pipelines in order to protect the groundwater reserves. The joint venture is planning to use solar energy and renewable raw materials to generate energy and heat.
