In this seminar we will explain the concept behind BELSIL® eco and present our current BELSIL® eco product portfolio. We will also introduce the latest addition to our BELSIL® eco range: BELSIL® eco REG 1102 - the first silicone elastomer gel based on 100% bio-methanol.

In addition, we will present selected formulations showcasing our BELSIL® eco silicones and their desired special effects for make-up, skin-care and hair-care applications.

BELSIL® eco is produced using 100% bio-methanol instead of fossil raw materials, making WACKER the world’s first chemical group to offer resource-efficient silicones for the cosmetics industry.

BELSIL® eco consists of bio-methanol obtained entirely from renewable raw materials, such as straw, grasses and sugar beet. Certified according to strict criteria, the BELSIL® eco manufacturing process and use of bio raw materials are continuously controlled by TÜV NORD.

Dr. Tassilo Habereder

Dr. Tassilo Habereder studied chemistry and wrote his PhD thesis in inorganic chemistry. Before he joined Wacker Chemie AG he had worked in various positions for Ciba Speciality Chemicals (now BASF). Since 2009, he has been working as technical manager and laboratory head for Personal Care applications at Wacker Chemie AG. Moreover he works as Global Technical Champion for Wacker Skin and Color Care applications.
