Our area of activity

Procurement & Logistics form the backbone of our global value creation.

Our logistics move millions of tons of products each year through a global network of sea, air, rail, and road transport, working closely with international service providers. Five operational functions – incoming goods, internal transport, warehousing, shipping and import/export compliance – ensure that everything flows safely, efficiently and sustainably. A central staff unit drives digitalization, automation and strategic projects.

Procurement also ensures the reliable supply of raw materials, energy, technical services, logistics and IT services – with a global procurement volume of several billion euros. In a global matrix of categories and regions, our teams develop market analyses, strategies and partnership-based supplier relationships to ensure quality, costs and resilience in the long term.

Logistics, transportation and distribution

You plan and coordinate worldwide transportation by truck, rail, ship or plane and ensure safe, compliant handling in accordance with international dangerous goods regulations. You are also responsible for warehousing, inventory management and the highest safety standards for chemical substances and finished products.

Strategic purchasing and supplier management

You identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers for raw materials, energy, packaging and services. Through skillful negotiations, global framework agreements and partnership-based relationships, you secure cost, quality and supply advantages – and ensure compliance with sustainability and compliance standards.

Supply chain planning, resilience and customer satisfaction

You plan and synchronize demand, production and inventories across different regions. With modern planning systems, you increase transparency, minimize risks and ensure reliable delivery capability for our global customers.

Sustainability and digitalization

You use digital tools, automation and data-based analysis to make processes more efficient and resilient. At the same time, you reduce CO₂ emissions, promote sustainability along the supply chain and thus make a direct contribution to SustainaBalance® and to WACKER's future viability.
