Waterproofing with bitumen is a widely used method in many countries.

The VINNEVA^® brand comprises a range of polymer-based dispersions for the modification of bitumen emulsions. The dispersions are usually post-added to the bitumen emulsions.

Main Characteristics

VINNEVA^® dispersions are based on WACKER’s vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) technology. These VAE dispersions show improved or similar properties to competing polymer technologies used in bitumen modification.

SEM images of dried VAE-modified bitumen emulsion membranes show that a continuous VAE-polymer network has developed.

Main Benefits and Application Areas

Tensile adhesion strength test: polymer modification meant that the tensile adhesion strength rose by as much as 60 percent compared to conventional bitumen emulsions.

Adding VINNEVA^® to bitumen emulsions can yield one or more of the following benefits:

Reduced residual tack
Increased adhesion and wear resistance
