WACKER Health Services Administers over 10,000 Coronavirus Vaccinations

Feb 23, 2022

After nine months in operation, WACKER’s vaccination center at its Burghausen site reports giving over 10,000 inoculations to protect against the coronavirus. More than 3,500 colleagues received their first and/or second dose here, with booster shots administered to over 3,000 individuals.

As part of a vaccine pilot project run by the government of Bavaria, Wacker Chemie AG, at its Burghausen site, was one of ten companies whose employees could receive coronavirus shots from their company doctor beginning in May 2021.

“The on-site vaccination center at the staff building has now been dismantled, but it can be set back up within three working days if needed,” explains Dr. André Kirchberger, who directs Health Services. He emphasizes, however, that “as always, interested employees can still sign up for vaccination.”

Health Services had likewise made it possible for Munich HQ employees to receive both their first and second vaccine doses and then their booster shots there. The Nünchritz site in Saxony hosted a vaccination campaign in collaboration with the German Red Cross (DRK). The company’s other sites offered vaccine shots to their employees in cooperation with contract physicians.
