Instructors at the WACKER ACADEMY of China (Shanghai)
Kevin Chen joined WACKER in 2008. Now, as a technical manager at the Shanghai technical center, he is in charge of technical support and service in northern China for dispersible polymer powders supplied by Construction Polymers.
Daniel Deng obtained a master’s degree in Material Science from East China University of Science and Technology in 2009. He joined the Rubber Solutions business team at WACKER China in 2012 and is a technical manager at the WACKER Shanghai technical center, responsible for promotion and technical support of silicone rubbers in healthcare, baby care, and textile coating applications in China.
Dr. Tina Duan
Dr. Tina Duan is a senior technical manager for WACKER POLYMERS in China. She is in charge of the ADTS team and technical support for the region. She obtained a PhD in Materialogy at Tongji University and joined WACKER in May 2008. She has extensive experience with applications of dispersible polymer powders.
Cheryl Fan is a senior technical manager at the WACKER Shanghai technical center and is in charge of technical service and support for HDK® fumed silica for Asia Pacific. She has been involved in sealants and adhesives, as well as in coatings research and development activities and product applications. Cheryl Fan joined the Shanghai center in July 2013.
Henry Fan works as a senior technical manager at WACKER. When he joined WACKER in 2006, he was responsible for technical service for pulp and paper defoamers and tissue softeners at the WACKER Shanghai technical center. In January 2010, he assumed responsibility for silicone emulsions technology management and localization as an emulsion platform expert. There he was involved in local production, product development and technology transfer for silicone emulsion products in China. Now he is mainly responsible for technical service and support for pulp and industrial defoamers, and for the paper coatings business within China.
Judy Han joined WACKER in 2007 and currently works as a technical manager at WACKER’s Shanghai technical center. She is in charge of technical service and support for silicone sealants in China, and can also draw on solid experience and research in raw material.
Steven Li is a senior technical engineer at the WACKER Beijing Branch. He is in charge of technical service and technical support for polymers in Northern and Northeastern China.
Helen Li is a technical manager in WACKER’s China Dispersions business team. She graduated from SCUT in 2001 and obtained her masters degree from ECUST in 2008. She has many years of work experience in applications research on coating additives and in developing formulations for interior wall paints and WPM. Now she is responsible for technical service in construction and paper coating applications.
Barry Liu is a technical manager at the WACKER Shanghai technical center. As a technician, he is mainly responsible for electronics applications of silicone elastomers in the Industrial market segment in China. He joined the Shanghai center in October 2015 and has been providing extensive technical support for applications in automotive electronics and in the optical bonding market.
Mark Sha is a technical manager at WACKER’s Shanghai technical center. He is in charge of technical service and support for silicone oligomers in coatings and for water-resistant products in China. Mark Sha has worked in production, R&D and technical service for coatings since 1995. He joined WACKER’s Shanghai technical center in August 2005.
Frank Shi graduated from ECTEI (Donghua University) in 1982 and then worked at the Shanghai Textile Research Institute. He was involved in and headed many Shanghai and textile bureau research projects, where he published more than 10 papers in the core journals. He joined WACKER’s Shanghai technical center in 2000. He works as a senior technical manager at the center and is responsible for technical service and support for textile technology in China.
Juan Wang is the product supervisor for Construction Polymers at WACKER’s Nanjing factory, where she is in charge of quality supervision of polymer powders. She is also the laboratory supervisor for Construction Polymers at WACKER’s Shanghai technical center, where she is in charge of lab management. She obtained a master’s degree in Material Science from Tongji University in 2006, her main field is high-performance cement-based materials. She has held her position at WACKER Construction Polymers in Shanghai since 2016.
Vivi Wu is a technical engineer at the WACKER Shanghai technical center and she is in charge of technical support for the solar and lighting industries. She joined the Shanghai center in 2007.
Eric Xu joined WACKER’s Shanghai technical center in 2007. His job as a senior technical manager covers managing product supplies, preparing and making recommendations, customer product testing, presentation of lectures and seminars, and silicone application launches. At the Shanghai center, he is in charge of technical service and support for personal care and household products in China.
Ping Zhang graduated from Zhejiang University’s Physics department in 1984. He has many years of work experience. Since 2004, he has been a WACKER technical manager for Polymers, responsible for customer service at the unit that supplies VINNOL® and VINNAPAS® resins and VINNAPAS® VAE emulsions.
Richard Zhang is a technical director of Polymers in China, in charge of research into innovations and new technologies. He joined WACKER’s Shanghai technical center in December 2000, where he assumed responsibility for technical service and customer training. He has helped develop many construction materials (including dry-mix mortars) and assisted in the preparation of ETICS standards.
Laura holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Material Science and Technology from ECUST (East China University of Science and Technology). She is a technical engineer at the WACKER Shanghai technical center, in charge of technical service and support for engineering silicones for general industry. She joined WACKER in 2013 and is responsible for promotion and technical support of engineering silicone products in China.
A technical manager at the WACKER Shanghai technical center, Jerry is in charge of technical service and support for polymer powders in Central and Eastern China. He has many years of experience with dry-mix mortar. His activities are currently focused on promoting the application of polymer powders in ceramic tile adhesives.
Northy Zhou is a technical manager at WACKER’s Shanghai technical center. He is in charge of technical service and support for silicone elastomers used in the industrial market in China. He joined the Shanghai center in April 2006, with responsibility for application support for silicone products used in the electrical market. In 2010, he became involved in local silicones research and development for products.
John Zhu is a senior technical manager at the WACKER Shanghai technical center. He has been responsible for technical service and lab management for Silicone Construction Chemicals since July 2016. Before that, he had worked for several years as a Silicone Construction Chemicals sales manager at WACKER China.
