Zhangjiagang is a cornerstone of WACKER’s presence in Asia, supplying the fast-growing Asian chemical markets with WACKER SILICONES and WACKER POLYMERS products. Production of VINNAPAS^® polymer powders started here in 2005, with silicone elastomers and silicone sealants following in 2006.

Two further investment projects are under way: a siloxane plant and a HDK^® plant together with partner Dow Corning. When capacity expansion plans at Zhangjiagang are completed (by the end of the decade), WACKER will have a globally competitive silicone facility that will strengthen the Group’s market position, development prospects and competitive edge especially in China and Asia.
