Over 30 years ago, WACKER's Kempten site devised an innovative technology for the production of HDK®. Since then, the site had been producing pyrogenic silica for use in diverse industrial sectors.
The consolidation measures adopted by WACKER SILICONES include closing the Kempten site for good in 2011. Production volumes will be transferred to existing industrial-scale plants in Burghausen and Nünchritz to better utilize capacity there.
