Akeno factory is part of Wacker Asahikasei Silicone Co., Ltd (AWS) which was established in 1999 as a joint venture between Wacker Chemie AG and Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation, a leading Japanese chemical company.

At Akeno factory, wide variety of products are produced to serve the customers mainly in Japan. The product lines include silicone emulsions, HTV rubbers, RTV rubbers and liquid silicone rubber (LSR).

The Akeno factory boast the state-of-the-art equipment for product and process development, technical service, production and warehousing. Synthesis laboratory is the latest major investment made at Akeno factory in order to increase the technical competence at AWS.
