WACKER RELIEF FUND
The Asian tsunami of December 2004 caused devastation of catastrophic proportions for the population in the regions affected. Thousands lost their lives or their livelihoods.
WACKER employees spontaneously donated €100,000. The WACKER Group doubled the sum and topped it up with an additional €50,000. In this way funds totaling €250,000 could rapidly be passed on to relief projects in Sri Lanka without incurring any red tape. At the same time, the WACKER RELIEF FUND was founded. This charitable organization helps to realize long-term and sustainable projects and provide sponsors for self-help projects.
