Silane crosslinking is the established way to make power transmission and distribution cables from crosslinkable polyethylene (XLPE). WACKER silanes provide you with the necessary high-quality raw materials. The innovative technology behind silane crosslinking transforms low-cost thermoplastic polymers into crosslinked polymers. Crosslinking boosts heat and dimensional stability, electrical flow and creep resistance, as well as weatherability.
GENIOSIL® vinyl silanes are mostly employed for silane crosslinking and the production of crosslinkable polyolefin compounds. Formulating silanes together with processing auxiliaries synergistically combines the benefits of silane crosslinking with those of the polymer additive properties of silicones.
