In the electrophotographic process, an electrical image of the original is created on the photoconductive drum and covered with charged toner particles. When the copier paper passes over the photoconductive drum, the toner is transferred to the paper. WACKER HDK® pyrogenic silica ensures that the toner is transferred uniformly and perfectly accurately.
Pyrogenic silica is a key ingredient of toners. WACKER has decades of experience in the development and manufacture of pyrogenic silica and supplies its own class of products for the toner market. The range is composed of pyrogenic silicas with high and low specific surface area (BET), which are pretreated in different ways and may be charged positively or negatively by triboelectric means. We also offer products that meet the requirements of conventional toners, along with toners for chemical toner formulations.
